01 — The association

Indian Water Works Association

IWWA was founded in 1968 with headquarters in Mumbai. It is a voluntary body of professionals concerned and connected with water supply for municipal, industrial and agricultural uses, and with the treatment and disposal of wastewater.

The Association focuses on the entire water cycle, including environmental, social, institutional and financing issues. Forty-one centres are active across India, with more than 14,000 professionals at home and abroad. Each year the centres host technical programmes, and IWWA holds an annual convention. Internationally it keeps a working relationship with the International Water Association (IWA), the American Water Works Association (AWWA) and the Japan Water Works Association (JWWA).

“The entire water cycle — environmental, social, institutional and financial.”
